Can a Rabbit and a cat live together when they are both 2 ye

Postby caro12 » Thu Mar 11, 2010 10:28 am

Hi

I have an indoor rabbit called Anna, she has free run of my house downstairs. I have been offered a two year old cat who is not wanted. Anna is a large drawf rabbit who is very capable of looking after herself. Timmi is a female cat who seems very loving?

If they can be friends how do you introduce a rabbit and a cat together?

Please help thank you

Hello friends

They can not be kept together. 99% of the time, unaltered male rabbits will fight, viciously. They can even kill each other. Sometimes, neutered males can live together peacefully if they are slowly and carefully introduced, but even that is a fairly difficult introduction. Plus, if you were going to neuter your rabbit, a better choice and easier introduction would be a spayed female. Rescue groups are great places to find already-altered rabbits, and they will help you to choose a compatible friend for him, but they will require him to be neutered beforehand.

Thanks for all friends
