can anyone tell me how can i convert any file into .vob file because my DVD player dont support any other file?

using converter leads to a very big file but i have seen many .vob files in short size in DVD`s please tell me more about this convert process

.vob files are MPEG video files. That very big file is the full converted video (assuming you are converting an hour-long video) and the smaller ones on DVDs are usually bonus content that aren't as long as the main feature.

Conversion takes a video in one format (flash, avi, divx, whatnot) and converts it to another, often more usable format (mpeg, mp4...). MPEG doesn't compress well, so it consumes a lot of hard drive space. But it's the only format that makes a DVD what it is.
