The chances of a full pedigree dog for free are slim. These dogs command a huge price, they are bred to make money. Maybe you could get one cheap at a rescue centre or other animal charity. Or you may have to opt for a mongrel if you insist it must be free. They are far healthier and happier.

dogs are not free. You can find a dog at your local shelter tho for a fair adoption fee.

Take your daughter down to the local shelter and look around together to pick out a dog.. This link is hidden. Please JOIN FREE and LOGIN to view this link.

No such thing as a free dog!

You can try a shelter but it's expected that you pay an adoption fee. Besides, what about all the money it costs to keep a dog? Vet bills, food, toys, etc. It's certainly not cheap.

If you cannot afford the adoption fee at a local shelter or rescue, then you cannot afford to own a dog. Dogs cost money for food, vet and the occasional emergency. Wait until you are in a better financial situation so you can do right by any dog you bring into your family.

You may want to consider fostering for your local shelter or rescue. Basically the dog will be given to you and they will pay for all the vetting and you will feed and train the dog until a forever home can be found. You will be teaching your 10 year old good lessons on volunteering and will be able to help many dogs in need by fostering. You will also be off the hook for any vet bills that could arise.

Breed dogs are not free. You can adopt them, though. Put an ad in the local classifieds that you want to adopt breed dogs. But you will still need to give it vaccinations, pay for the checkups, etc. Let me give you a suggestion for a breed.

Bulldogs are the best. I know they look dangerous and mean, but read on first!

Despite their looks, they are one of the friendliest dogs. They don't need to be fussed for much (no frequent haircuts, etc.) and there's no need for daily walks, once in 2-3 days is fine.

They can be trained easily, and will make the perfect companion for your 10 year old.

You cant get a free dog unless you literally find one on the street so try adopting but there is a fee
You also have to pay for food, toys, leashes, training books, carpet cleaner, and expensive vet bills
I suggest you get your daughter a fish or a hamster :)

I would recomend a Cavalier King Charles. My parents have always had one and they aren't over excited and not snappy at all, they are very friendly safe dogs to have, maybe see if you can find a rescue centre for Cavaliers on the internet, or go to

i'm not sure about a free dog unless you get a puppy from a friend/neighbor who's dog had puppies, or you could try getting a dog from a shelter, if you don't mind a mix-breed.
for some breeds, i think you might like
a lab (adorable!)
a shitzu (if your daughter likes small dogs)
a pug
hope i helped!
